The Mirror Effect: Part II

The Mirror Effect: Part II

A Chapter by justice
"

The second part of the poem The Mirror Effect

"

A man in a suit

drives home in an Audi.

His collar

is stained

with cheap lipstick

and Chateau Lagrange

from last night's

late night meetings.

Angie, his wife,

waits anxiously

at the door

of their four bedroom,

three and a half bath

Victorian.

Her eyes -

still puffy

and red -

fixated up Swann St.

She is not blinking

and barely breathing.

The kids

have been sent to Grandma's

for the night.

They watch TV -

SpongeBob SquarePants.

The Audi

drives by a man on a bench

He looks asleep -

possibly dead.

The suit inside thinks to himself:

“That poor man.”

shows the contrast between two different people, their lives briefly intertwining. I love it.

Easy to think pity. To assist another human being take heart and great effort. You told a strong story of people not paying attention to the poor and the homeless. A excellent poem.

Liked Part I better, but this is still some quality stuff. Try minimalizing the lines a bit... taking out words that don't have kick to them. But anyways, this is good. Obviously quite similar to the other one, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. The first couple of stanzas are well-crafted, I liked them a lot.
