Bathing In Rose Petals

Bathing In Rose Petals

A Poem by Destiny Izaguirre Cortez

Deep, red, sangria petals

Eyes closed
My naked body soaking in these clear bathtub waves
Mind drifting
Deeper I sink
      Head under water
      Brown skin coated
Floral scented
Dreamy state
High without the Mary Jane

Eyes open
Nostrils burning
Heart pumping

I sit up
Watching the petals sink in between my palms

I inahle
Rub the petals across my face
Across my skin
Across my body

I really appreciate it. I'm glad you enjoyed reading it
Your description is fantastic. I love the way you arrange your words. It really speaks of the petals and its power on the palm of the writer. Well crafted.

Thank you very much!
The descriptive language is immersive. I love that you've made a short experience into a narrative of sensation.
