Linger

for the self-love contest

You could, 

linger on mistakes

and words never spoken

that hurt you 

more than anyone could see

but if you were to show,

the things you linger on to another,

they would be suprised,

for you to linger on it.

believe me, they are too busy stuck on their own ridiculous truths.

so, try to, 

for a little bit,

take off your personal biases,

turned against yourself,

and see,

that really,

nothing is as wrong as you thought it was.

You could,

for a minute, 

take your finger off the pain,

and choose to linger on something else instead.
