Note to Self

A Poem by Just Plain Me
"

Grawr

"

You close your eyes,
afraid of what you'll see.
You have a smile for everyone,
but you can't fool me.

I can see through your armor,
the shield meant to keep everyone out.
I know I'd be able to help,
if only you'd let go of your doubt.

It's time to let the walls come down,
let each brick fall away.
It's okay to open your heart,
top being led astray.

Yeah, you'll probably be hurt,
it's just a fact of life.
But what's the point of living,
if you can only bear the strife?

There's so much more out there,
if only you'd let someone in.
Despite what you might believe,
being loved, is no sin.

Remember this,
because it's what's real.
Your scars are from the past,
it's time to let yourself heal.

A piece that puts things on the table. If the player doesn't wish to break their shell, than there is not much once can do. I've felt these words on many occasion and it always seems like the outcome is usually the same. I watch the pompous ride off on the air of arrogance to be the hand that destroys themselves in the long run. At least I tried...right? Clears the conscious.
