My Own Two FeetA Poem by Just Plain MeWritten last month I do believe
A smile always forced upon my face,
never allowed to fall from grace. All I year for is the freedom to fly, to spread my wings in the big blue sky. Always I'm held down, always stuck in this devil town. Never allowed to be set free, always having to pay this dam fee. A heart that's given up all hope, still clings to life by a fragile rope. All I want is to walk on my own two feet, through rain, snow, sun and sleet. Always I'm held back, like paper pinned down by a tack. Never allowed to see the light, believing the dark is now bright. Soon it'll be on my feet I'll stand, from my life hurt will be banned. It's almost within my greedy grasp, and then this hell will cease to last. © 2011 Just Plain MeAuthor's Note
