I Look...I See

I Look...I See

A Poem by Just Plain Me
"

"
I look around and I see everything that has ever mattered to me.
I see the bunny I've always had.
I see the mirror I used to play dress up in.
I see the fountain my sister got me.
I see the tea sets I've always loved.

I look around and I see sweet, sweet memories.
I see the flowers you got me for prom.
I see the first picture ever of us together.
I see the dress I wore the first time we were alone.
I see the headphones you gave  me.

I look around and I see a miserable mess.
   I see dried, old flowers.
I see a picture that makes my chest ache with a broken frame.
I see a dress collecting dust in my closet.
I see headphones my cat chewed up.

I look around me and I see absolutely nothing that matters to me...
              I look around me...
                            but I don't see you.

This is a reflective poem, indeed..

As I read this, it made me think on how my own poem would reflect the many memories and imagery that I have stored up inside me when it comes to my past. Its a very interesting concept, what we call perspective.. and your poem really brings that concept to life..
