Bah

Lessons she learned way too well,
ones that won't let them out of their spell,
control her life and every move...
so she locked her heart away.

Scars and holes made her oh so afraid,
ones that made her pay debts that had already been paid,
Guide her every thought and every word...
so she lost the only key.

She hides behind fake laughs and smiles,
pretending the future doesn't go on for miles
hoping one day that someone might see,
that that girl is a lot like me.
