A Poem by Just Plain Me
"

Looking at pictures of me and my friends from a long time ago got me thinking

"

What happened to friends being enough?
To everyone helping when things got tough?
Why did we go change and twist?
Our gleeful innocence turning to mist?

When we were little, no one cared as long as you were nice.
Entertainment came in the form of a board and dice.
It didn't matter if your best friend was the opposite sex.
And treasure maps always were always marked with an "X".

What did we do to lose best friends?
To being friends till the end?
Why can't we belive the same way we did when we were little?
Our strength that once shone bring turned brittle?

When we were little a camera could always catch a smile.
Clothes were comfy, instead of in style.
It didn't matter if you were rich or poor.
Everyone expected the same...no less and no more.

Will we ever go back to the way we were?
To being entertained by simply making a cat pur?
Will we ever go back to being friends?
Or is this how childhood has to always end?

Man i know what you mean here...but things change...no one will stay the same as when they were kids...we all need to grow up...it just all depends on how we do that.
