"

Can you guess what the "web" is?

"

We’re all tangled up in its web,
doing things we knew to dread.
Getting stuck and not being able to move,
enticing us with all of its pretty little jewels.

Once we’re in its grasp we cannot leave,
we’re all stuck in its complicated weave.
We’re never going to be free of this web,
we took the bait, now we’re caught.

Fighting it, we all just get caught up all the more,
not entirely sure what’s in store.
Knowing that we might get hurt if we touch that web,
we still wanted those precious jewels.

We’re all tangled up in its web,
doing things we can hardly believe we used to dread.
Getting stuck and not being able to move,
doesn’t seem as important as having these jewels.
