Just Let Me Sleep

I was having a really bad day yesterday

 

Just let me sleep a little more,
just until this pain goes away.
Just a little more time, in this painless world,
where no hurt is known.
Just let me sleep.

Don’t wake me up,
I’ll wake up when I’m ready.
Don’t expect it to be soon,
there’s no way I’ll be ready to face the world.
Just let me sleep.

Please let me sleep a little longer,
I won’t get hurt here.
Please go away, so I can cry my silent tears,
so I can get to sleep.
Just let me sleep.

I may cry, I may scream,
but just let my voice go quiet, and my tears, let them stream.
I’ve done this to myself, with my accursed pride,
next time, maybe I’ll just keep myself tied.
My soul is yours to keep,
If you'll just let me sleep.

It's sad, but peaceful. In the sleep world, nothing can harm you, just your own thoughts, your own wishes and the joy you might expect from a dream world. Your tears will not fall, your heart will not break and you will just sleep�but if you don't come out, you could not soothe my soul, show me the glimmer of hope in your eyes that make me feel real, needed, and wanted.
