What You See, Is What You Get

What You See, Is What You Get

What you see, is what you get,
or so most people think, when they place their bet.
No one takes consideration for my pain,
only caring for their own gain.
No one cares if I shed another tear,
for when I do, they let out another cheer.

What you get, is what you see,
nothing worth anything, just plain ol' me.
Fighting this depression, for all I'm worth,
trying to figure out the point of my birth.
Desperatly seeking someone to love,
hopefully sent, from up above.

What you see, is what you get,
the most pathetic girl you've ever met.
A hopeless loser, who hasn't got a clue,
run away fast, before you get blue.
A small town brat, nothing less and nothing more,
being my friend will be a chore.

What you get, is what you see,
so run away fast, and you shall be free.
Not bothered by my fears,
just forgetme through the years.
Don't worry if I cry,
for saying you're sorry, would be a lie.

What you see, is what you get,
the stone is carved and the mortar set.
You can hate this hick town girl,
for just giving this life a whirl.
Or you can be my friend, and help me believe,
that perhaps, one day, this depression might leave.

What you see is what you get, though you'd best look thoroughly. More ways of seeing a person than the physical. Too many people don't check the inner person though, which sucks. Some people it takes a lot of searching, some, like me, it's pretty easy. For example, ya get a toothpick man with a bad temper, end of story :P Good write though.

We don't know who we meet and why, we don't understand those that just happen by at a time you might want to cry. So people lend a hand with a heart that is pure, and is willing to uncover your darkness so that you can once again enjoy the light. If you extend your hand he will come, it will tbe ough to find you in the darkness, although he will try, he will share your moments but it so hard to see in the darkness.

I do what I, not to please others for my gratitude but to share that moment that gives a glow and many know that feeling. You might ask who am I, and if you read about me, you will see me.

Really, this is an impression write although dark, your feelings are poetically laid on the paper. Nice write, my dear K.

The rhyme keeps the poem in time. Time is the key to flow. Nice job, but remember, you don't have to rhyme. It can constrict your thoughts. The poem hit home because at one point or another everyone will question their existence and wonder if there is truly anything out there for them. I think you would be more free to express yourself in a free verse poem.

Great Poem

Your depression can leave...and all you have to do is believe...i know you dont like me talking about my religion..but thats how some ppl get through life easier...life is always going to be hard though...there is no way we can change that...but through God anything is possible
Great Job :)

Well I don't know what you say...but I wouldn't mind being a friend to help you believe that the depression might leave

this poem hit me a lot harder than I thought it would...it might have been about you...but I felt like it was about me since it reflected what I have gone through and what I go through even now

All I can say is just believe...believe that after each rain shower comes a beautiful rainbow
