Monsters in my Closet

Monsters in my Closet

A Poem by Just Plain Me
"

read this like a little kid would say it...then it will make more sense :)

"

What was that noise?
was it the boogie man?
I have monsters in  my closet...
ones i cannot ban.

Where did that shadow come from?
is it from my nightmares?
I have monsters in my closet...
ones will not move their lairs.

What was that light?
could it be from Hell?
I have monsters in my closet...
ones that wont leave, no matter how much I yell.

Mommy comes in, and turns on the light,
says "honey, dear...what gave you such a fright?"
I look up, eyes big and bright,
saying "That wasn't me mommy...I have monsters in my closet...and they're having a party tonight."

This is very cute. I wrote a short one about the closet monster and the under the bed monster having a sleep-over. Same idea here I think. Very cute. I really enjoyed this.

I've found that sometimes it helps to just give in and join the party instead ;) (And I still prefer leaving the closet doors open, there's no logic to this..)
