Once Upon a Time

I wrote this while my parents were fighting...again.

Once upon a time...
I was once naive and stupid,
   no longer am i those.
I used to believe in the fairytales,
   now i know they were just to make my eyes close.
I believed he was gonna be your night in shinging armor.

Once upon a time...
i thought it could be like in Cinderella,
   where everyting goes right.
I thought it could be like in Snow White,
   where life gets better.
I thought it might like in Aladdin,
   where love transends all.

Once Upon a Time...
I thought maybe things will get better.
I thought Daddy would come back.
I thought perhaps if i acted perfect, someone would love me.

now i know...Once Upon a Time,
only has happy endings in the stories.

Yeah! A fairy tale world is no fun to live in. I like how this is presented, you write very good.
I sincerely mean that, you can pick up two words and rhyme them and make them flow.
Wonderful write full of emotion.

This is a very powerful piece.
Its a shame when so much catastrophe can happen in families, i know, im in one.

The picture is perfect for this poem...you did a great job...and i kinda agree with you...fairytales always or for the most part have happy endings...but the reason why is because the world is filled with dismay and disapointments...thats why there are alot of writers...they write what they wish could be or what comes to their heart...and once again you did a wonderful Job on this poem.
