Simple Childhood

Simple Childhood

A Poem by Just Plain Me
"

I wish we could all have the emotions of children...then maybe we'd have more respect for each other

"

A swing in the park,
the feeling of flying.
A tree in the yard,
the fortress no one could enter.
A playground games,
the friends forever.
A blankie and a teddy,
the friends that slept over every night.
A movie and some popcorn,
the best entertainment ever.
A kiss from mommy and daddy,
the sense of belonging.

Simple childhood memories,
so sweet and so innocent.
Simple childhood wishes,
so beautiful in their sincerity.
Simple childhood emotions,
so vibrant and alive.
Simple childhood promises,
so easily kept.

I agree, it's a great thing to be lily white and free of all those complications that go with years. And as we grow, we seem to loose the ability to see, much more to feel. And everyone say kids don't get it, they just play around, they are blank papers...with their heads in the clouds. That's great. To see the beauty in simple stuff, just like the clouds are, and that's the whole point of life.
