I am an unquenchable raging fire

Lusting for a capitalistic ideal

I am America

Hello and welcome to the site! I wanted to start off by saying that I liked your poem. As I get older, I find that I have to guard my political expressions a bit more carefully; people tend to take me more seriously because of my age, so it's hard to express myself without seeming imperious or preachy. Your poem is an expression of political belief unimpeded by any such considerations, which makes it poignant and concise.

I have no criticism of the craftsmanship of this poem. It's really quite good. If I had a comment to make, it might be that I see America as having fallen into a more oligarchical than capitalistic paradigm.

I love how you referred to America as an awakened carnivore! A lot of things you said in this poem are 100 percent absolutely true about America nowadays. I just hope this country changes the direction it's going in soon.
