A Poem by Tricia O'Brien

-She watches falling birds descend to the cold hard earth

-She watches the broken tree limbs plunge to the damp saddened hillside

-She watches dreams nosedive into bottomless wishing-wells

-She watches flowers drown in knotted weeds and wilt away

-She watches as promises are made and left to rot

-She watches lives forgotten and hope decompose

-She watches colossal waves devour and conquer, leaving thunderous wreckage drifting aimlessly

-She watches young cast aside to fend for themselves blindly

-She watches the life force plucked from ones being, tossed out, trampled upon and mocked

-She watches a bond violently raped, a trust seized against ones will

-She watches what was once her life scatter and dissolve
