"Loved"

"Loved"

A Poem by Tricia O'Brien

Made to feel guilty for giving selflessly

Made ugly by those soulless

Destructive words that slaughter and live forever

Scars reopened. Blame misdirected

Sanity stolen and faith beaten

Shallow grave marked and ready

Name tags to help remember

A sickness that spreads

A plea for help ignored

A disease fed and given center stage yet the focus is made blurred

Disgusting filth covers what was clean and pure

Mae to feel wrong for doing what’s right

Made weak by those vacant

AND watching all of this wide eyed and helpless
