Promises

Promises

A Poem by Tricia O'Brien

She pushes n pulls to make it fit-
She struggles internally but shows nothing but grit-
A simple explanation clues them in-
But, it’s been so long to feel like she’s in-
In, just a moment nothing of substance.
Another story in the never ending timeline that follows this abundance of turbulence-
Red blinking lights just another reminder of yesterday’s disaster-
It’s no joke just another guy blowing up an empty bowl
She see’s what’s not and known’s what’s hidden
Too aware, she’s scared now, to own the truth
