Keeping Up

Keeping Up

A Poem by Tricia O'Brien
"

Young Recovery

"
My tattered skin
My heavy blues
My lines of shape
My thoughts on a rampage
My hand can't keep up
I don't even care
The reminders that kept me going are now covered in color and image
I still see those marks, through those new designs
My heart is still beating
Along with my want
My dreams have been removed from those hidden places
My worry, worries me
Still

Almost frantic in measure then soothed to stillness as the colours cover the sun
