Isn't

Isn't

A Poem by Tricia O'Brien
"

Young Recovery

"
Her insides are frozen
His are bound
Hands meet
Briefly
The fire and unsettled truths revealed
Drowning in what could be
But, isn't
The secrets are under it all and it's too much to look past
He says the door is open
But the important is locked
He'll never hold her or see her
She'll never really have him
It's all caught up
He nor she can break free
She'll sleep
He'll drift in smoke
Dream of another place
Warm and real
Safe and secure
He'll fit and fill her
Bottomless hope it is
She believes
She knows this deal and knows it all too well
The pieces will fall, as they do, never in place
She'll leave it all behind
Or attempt to
She'll force herself to forget
Her insides are frozen and this just adds an extra layer

" it's to much to look past" - too much?

"dift" or drift?

sometimes a person wounds themself so they don't have to feel.
