VisibleA Poem by Tricia O'BrienYoung Recovery
A glimpse into something that has no form or explanation
It's difficult to hold or even really feel The weight that holds you down That keeps you down A beautifully painted glass window from afar grips you to no end As you approach the cracks are so visible The colors are nothing of what they once appeared You're confused and the little hope you had is now lost As you welcome in that familiar feeling of inner deflation you understand it was all staged The hollow words that made you feel full are just apart of another sad story you'll write about A dead end you couldn't even see the signs You didn't want to There was a shift in the wind, it pulled and pushed A location unknown is where you now stand To slip into the place you thought was made for you, when really, you'll never fit at all, this makes you pour out There's no room You'll light up a smoke Carelessly look at the emptiness around you, that is you You'll gather your things, collect your boxes and move onto the next with no hesitation You tell yourself that this was worth it There will be no room for the "what if" questions and neverending thoughts You've explored and found your place, just not here, not today One day, you say, one day you'll make it
