One Day

One Day

A Poem by Tricia O'Brien
"

Young Recovery

"
She dreams of the day she'll be taken away
She laughs and smiles then
She has bright eyes and a soft heart
She feels free and light
Her step is easy and her mind clear
She reaches out and is met by his hand
She thinks of the day he pulls her in
She feels safe and secure
She runs with him not from
They feel nothing but one another
He holds all that is her and she feels no fear
He protects her from all, including self
They save each other
She waits for this
She waits for him
He sings to her in utter silence it's the greatest sound that has blessed her
She wants to stay there forever
She only see's him
She knows that this is it
She sits and becomes all that she's ever thought to be
With his dreamy eyes on only her
She lets go of all that's held her captive
He lifts her up and brings her home
They made it
And-it was much closer that she thought
