She's Got Me

She's Got Me

A Poem by Tara Togoland
"

Who dare says he can choose whom he falls in love with?

"
I met this strange girl
She's so rude and ugly and mean
She's just so full of herself
And more proud than peacocks could be
I fell for this crazy girl
Felt my heart jump out of me
When she looked me in the eye
And said "love doesn't exist"

Oh stupid, silly, clumsy girl
How did I ever stumble?
Must have been when we first met
Then you seemed innocent and humble
Please let me give you a kiss
And I promise to let you leave
If you still insist
That love doesn't exist

I'm in love with this wild girl
Went home and told mother about it
Want to watch her walk down the aisle
Say "I do" and give her a ring
What a self conceited princess
Felt the air rush out of me
When she told me with a smile
That love isn't real

Oh cruel, cold, annoying wench
Then why did you make me fall?
Must have been that moment
When you stood under the disco ball
Just a kiss, just your lips
Then I dare you to repeat
Cause if love doesn't exist
Then what is this we see?

If love truly isn't real
Then what is this you feel?

This is actually an original song written by me and performed by a guy I met in a party who had called me "weird and strange"
