Chapter 2A Story by JustMeeSarahStill not edited, but I added a bit to Catherine's story.----------------------Catherine----------------------
Sally the calico cat thought she was
purr-fect. I sat on my bed, staring intently at her. Silly cat. Sitting there,
licking her paws and narrowing her eyes at me as if to say, “I bet you can’t do
this- oh look! Now you can’t catch me because I’m going to go hide on top of
the refrigerator where you obviously never
look and you can’t reach because I’m just too much of a cool cat like
that!” Pshh. Yeah, right. Sorry kitty. I usually like cats, just not today.
Well…that’s an understatement; I LOVE cats. I actually find them to be quite
interesting and intelligent. Old Sally and Uncle Ali have outsmarted me more
times than I’d care to admit. I sometimes think that it’s no coincidence that
my parents named me Catherine. Cat
her in. Cat he rin. Cat herine. C-A-T-H-E-R-I-N-E. Catherine. I like my name, too. It suits me and
my blonde wavelets, tall, girlish frame, and round brown eyes. I lie back on my bed and feel the
warmth of the sunlight steaming through the curtains on my face. It’s warm and
sunny for March in New York. No snow or bone-chilling winds. Yet, it is still
warmer inside than out. My bed smells like dust and cat hair, but I’ve gotten
used to it. Rolling over onto my stomach, I pet Old Sally. She purred. I
purred. Prrrrrrrrr. Then, I go downstairs to eat lunch.
It is, after all, just another boring Saturday. © 2013 JustMeeSarahAuthor's Note
