Sonnet I

Sonnet I

A Poem by Jordan Varner
"

This is a sonnet that I wrote for Creative Writing class. It's dedicated to the stars and to anyone with a distinct love for them.

"

The stars at night are a constant reminder

That the world is so much bigger than us

And though the world is made of dividers

The stars bring us together when we look up

During the day people fall into darkness

But at night we are doused in the most light

Because the day is made for the heartless

And the moon and the stars sooth and ignite

Inspiration is a warm summer breeze

Spent alone with the endless night sky’s song

When the sun’s gone and the day’s last dregs flee

The dusk brings a new peace and love along

These bright portals mean so much more than we think;

Shows a world that’s hazy yet so distinct
