Omnipotent Imprisonment

Omnipotent Imprisonment

A Poem by Jordan Varner
"

Just a comment on the state of the world.

"
This world is a prison.
A cleverly elaborated ruse,
Designed to blind our all-seeing eyes.

A hologram of what was, and what will be.
The primordial race to the land of milk and honey,
The "American Dream."

Running. Always running,
But nobody knows exactly from whom or what we run.
Nobody can look back.

Incarcerated in our own beliefs,
Imprisoned in our own so-called omnipotent ethics and our own arrogance.
This world is a prison.

We are mere pawns in a universal chess game of fate.

You paint a strong picture of our modern rat race......the dream which for many has become a nightmare..........a stale mate? Wouldn't it be great if a director can shout "cut" and we can start over?
