Fall of Icarus

Hazardous ventures await my son

Bedad! Begone! Beware!

Travel amidst the sea and the sun

Whimsy wings of wax will impair

I’ve been given by God the grace to glide

He believes of my celestial fate

Seeking the fiery globe aside

To die complies me to desecrate

Take heed of aged advice my son

Heavens are home for angels and saints

Follow my lead until we are done

Granting you wisdom for you to acquaint

Tragedy strikes the naiveté

Wings molded into failed ambition

Icarus lies on the bed of the bay

Pleading for Daedalus’ remission
