My Broken DreamA Poem by AnnaBroken dreams, broken people. You're my broken dream, that lives beneath me throughout my waking hours, That haunts me throughout the night, and rips at my seams, I cry a silent story, That no one tends to keep. My sadness is frozen, That slithers and creeps, I fill a lake of tears, That pulls on my happiness, While I swim in my fears. In a river of no progress. I feel ignorant and young, Stupid and hurt. My skin shivers, and tears stain my torn shirt. A world of so much beauty, Began my day of bliss, Now I stare straight at the walls, And forget about my wish. I listen and love, but never truly surrendered to the pain, But my drive is slowly crumbling, I feel I can't sustain. I sleep, tangled in my sheets, You're my falling, broken dream, It's time I call it quits It's time I claim defeat. © 2013 AnnaAuthor's Note
