Drip Drip Drop

Drip Drip Drop

A Poem by Jack Knoxville
"

Deafening rain led me to this....

"
Whoever thought that rain sounded like "pitter-patter" was a love struck bafoon.

The rain outside of my window has always sounded more like
a drip drip drop kerplunck
as grey splashes across the canvas of an otherwise unpainted day.

I used to love the rain
it gave me confirmation of unperfection
amongst this greeting card image of society
that had been handed down from generations passed

Birds don't always chirp when they're happy
They do it to be heard
and I don't have to write sappy sonnets
to consider myself a poet

Sometimes I write because the drip drip drop outside
is deafening enough to drive me into a depression
or a psycho obsessed madness that I can't share anywhere else.
