Bullying can change lives.
It used to be obvious,
Punches, shoving, and abusing.
But Now it has taken a different form.

More subtle and psychological,
Yet even more as devastating
Like the waves beating against the shore,
It breaks you down until you hate yourself.

Then when you look for help no one is there.
They all think your fine or it's good for you,
But it hurts even more than punches.
All you want to do is isolate yourself.

This is the new age of bullying.
Not as easily seen from bystanders.
And that is exactly why we need to stand up,
To fight for what might seem like a joke.

If you think it might be mean, it is.
Being afraid won't help anyone.
What we all need is just a friend,
Someone to be there for us.
