Young Mother

Young Mother

A Poem by Just Brooke
"

A poem I wrote for my sister while she was pregnant with her son.

"
Your a mother now
yet childhood seems close some how
you were playing Cinderella
now your smiling down at your own little fella
and he is your own
to watch grow
and wonder in disbelief
how could it really be
that this little miracle
is yours to hold
you'll watch him laugh
kiss him when he's sad
he'll depend on you
in everything he goes through
you'll be renamed mommy
you'll always be a role model
to this fragile angel
getting you to let him out of your arms
will be very very hard
because he's wrapped in a mother's love
to concur the world
that is more than enough
till he grows old
you'll be his hero
but pray for the teenage years
for you still have some
and he has them to come.
and the terrible twos
times when you pull out your hair
hope he brings only happy tears
remember he'll always love you!
