ringing of the assembly
bells
rushing out of the class last moment
murmuring in the lines
opening half eyes
angry looks of hiranmayee madam
friends laughing at the rebuking
daily doses of homework
begging notes at last minute submission
fourth period spent eating Tiffin
going canteen each day giving treat
bunking classes for games
all the lab periods chattering
of crushes and love interests of one and all
mixing chemicals in chem labs
struggles to suppress our laughter in class
listening sushmita ma'm new theories
fooling rabindra sir
all those bets on the "that of the"
all the gossips doing their rounds from one ear to other
falling for one girl after other
and ending up with none in the end
a time of innocence and simplicity
a time of wild and unbridled dreams
a time of carefree life
the days of my school life
Very cool my friend. Sounds like a wonderful time in your life. I know shcool has its ups and downs, but once it is gone and you have grown, you sure do miss it. Nicely done Prachi.
I agree. I told my kids also. Enjoy school. After we separate and rarely meet old friends. I enjoyed the energy and hope in the poem. Thank you for the excellent poetry.

Very evocative....yes, wouldn`t it be nice to be able to maintain that openness and innocence into adulthood?....unfortunately, in the West especially, kids are subject to so many pressures to lose it while they grow. Thanks for sharing. P.

this reminds me of grade school, catholic grade school and benedictions we would have on fridays...the nuns would look around and notice several of us missing...we were out in the school yard hiding under the buses, hoping they wouldn't notice we were gone...so we could take off and go play.
nice memory you bring up with this one...all the murmuring, the nasty looks...yep, school.
The person I am is the result of finite process of tests with no limits to its experiences. And the better aspect of the person I am can be reflected by the words of my family and friends. May be my i.. more..
