Best Buddies

A Poem by PABLOEVIL
"

This is one of my old poems, it's about a very close friend of mine who was sent off to this camp out of state. No internet access, no contact. used Yandhi for the cover art

For a long time, I thought your name was very, very rare. For 4 years I went without hearing of anyone with your name except you. How come, then, I have to hear the name Archie uttered completely randomly, now that I can't see you anymore?

Maybe I just didn't notice before because then it was just a name. Now, however, hearing it is like having a gong banging against my ear, an annoying little voice screaming at me, asking me if I remember all of the time I spent with you. Of course I remember. It's not like you’re dead. Well, it feels like it, but you aren't actually.

But I know the next time I see you you won't be the same person. Neither will I. We'll both be adults by then. That's almost worse, because I know that if you were here we'd be doing the same high school bullshit that we always used to. I curse the woman every night for stealing those experiences away from us.

There's nothing I can do, though, except wait for your call. Maybe I'll write you a letter. To be honest, I'd rather wait for your call. If I write then I'll spend a straight month waiting for the response. I don't know. I just miss you.
