Who Says?A Poem by RunawayWriter
Who says you have to have everything figured out before you graduate,
there are middle aged men and women working at a clothing store or
supermarket waiting for their career to start.
Who says you have to go to school and aced every single test you take, do you honestly believe the CEO of Microsoft remembers the test he failed in grade 11? Who says you have to be in a relationship to feel important, when you were a toddler you felt special anyway, your friends and family were enough. Who says you always have to be on your best behavior, crazy memories come form the worst ideas. Who says you can't be different, laws were made, theories were evolved and millions of devices were invented by people who refused to dim their shine because the others thought it was too bright. Who says you have to have a million and one friends, quality over quantity. Who says you have to study every day for three hours, you have a life, you need to live it, nobody is guaranteed tomorrow. Who says you need to look like society's deranged image of perfection, models even come in different shapes and sizes. Who says you can't chose your family over your friends, if they were really your friends they would understand. Who says you have to live up to the stereo typical girl vs. boy indication, challenge those boys who say you run like a girl or hang out with those girls in your choir class that except your dream of becoming a singer despite what your boys think. Who says you always have to agree with your parents, they don't know how it is for teens now-a-days. Who says you can't do the things you love, you LOVE them for a reason. Who says you have to pretend to be okay, everybody has their breaking point. Who says you have to join in when your friends are teasing someone, it's not like making someone feel bad will help you achieve anything. Who says you can't ask him out, he's probably just as scared to ask you out. Who says you can't treat your girl like a princess, even in front of your friends, you're less likely to lose her if you act as if you're still trying to win her. © 2016 RunawayWriter |
