Story Intro 1A Chapter by JuliettaAn intro to a story...Black. Black coats, black dresses, black gloves, black hats. There was no colour today. The sky was grey, the grass withered and dead. The tears were crystal, crystal clear. There was no sound. There was only a cold, unmoving chill in the air. It was as if the wind were holding it's breath. As if the wind were trying to hold back it's own tears. The crowd huddled closer, trying to stay warm. The coffin lay infront of us, it's unpolished wood unappealing to the eye-but then again, why would a coffin appeal to us? It was a humble coffin, ready to be put in it's grave. Inside lay Elizabeth Avery McBaine. Not a famous woman, but loved by all who knew her. Elizabeth was the mother of three beautiful girls, all of which closely resembling their mother. All of them fair haired, fair skinned, light blue eyes, and a very noble appearance. They held her grace, her posture, her...royal-like persona. Even the youngest withheld her composure through the funeral. Tears fell silently down each one's face. After words of sorrow had been passed, the casket was lowered into the ground. One by one the people left, until the only people left on the top of the hill were three desolate figures. One was tall, her hair up in a tight bun. To her right, was a girl only slightly shorter. Her hair down, curled from being up all day. The third was a small figure. She was on the ground, curled into a tight ball. A sound, unlike any was coming from her. It was a sound you never want to hear, a sound you never want to make. It was the sound of one's heart being ripped from the soul, crushed, destroyed. For it was these girls' mother, lying in the coffin. Dead. Murdered. © 2012 Julietta |
