You

You

A Poem by Julissa Pena
"

Ever find someone interesting but you also hate them? Its annoying. I found this poem in a journal from a year ago, no feelings resurface, but somehow my mind still recognizes that previous season.

"
I've learned to hate you
although you intrigue me
I know it's jealousy
it sounds cheesy
I hate you
and you don't care
I hate you
and it's my despair
so go on with your day
and leave me alone
but how could you
when we are so close
you are my friend
but I hate you the most
you are my friend
and its nothing to boast
you are my friend
and I'm still trying to cope
that although you are my friend
our friendship's a joke.

It flows like life... we give the title "friend" with so little thought and are so surprised when we realize they weren't.

There’s s fine line between love and hate. This poem was a tightrope walk. Sometimes it!s better to walk away.

The rhyme and rhythm are a bit broken, and it's ratehr hard to recognize just what this poem is about, but it's not too bad. Is it about unrequited love, or just a lousy friend?
