Chapter Two

Prince Kennan didn’t know what to do. He wasn’t a doctor; he couldn’t help the girl, so beautiful in her sleep. She had fallen into a coma. Self induced the doctor had said.

“She is traumatized. This girl has been through a lot, too much for her mind to handle. Let her be. She will come out of it.” He said while trying to stuff his stethoscope into his over filled bag. That had been a week ago. Now the doctor looked at her with concern. Kennan was impatient.

“How can people wait for 20 years for their loved ones to come out of their comma and I can’t stand to wait a week for a girl I know nothing about” Kennan thought pacing at the foot of her bed. He traced the bite mark she had left on his palm.

She is special. I know it. Now that she has entered this realm she will become fey, and she will be something that will save us…Or destroy us. I’m going to have to be careful.” Kennan thought, still pacing.

“The girl had been glowing when she fell into this world, not just the normal glow of humans but almost blinding. She lit the room. And she was beautiful.” He could see it, Even though she was more purple and black. Fey had a way of seeing through the veil that humans had. They concealed their personalities. Never showing their real selves.

“You shouldn’t dwell in hear for so long Kennan. I swear your going half-mad.” Someone said from the doorway. Kennan knew the voice…And didn’t really want to respond. Reluctantly, he turned and faced the voice.

“I will dwell where I please Kelly…” He said, trying to conceal his irritation. Kelly was his advisor/stalker. She hoped to be queen but Kennan despised her love for material things, and her clinginess. He turned his back to her.

“Well, will you at least come to dinner with me?” Kelly pleaded. Kennan turned toward her, then swerved around her and walked out the door. Kelly followed…

Of course….” Kennan thought. He couldn’t shake her until he got to his room and closed the door not caring if he closed it in Kelly’s face. He was in a bad mood. Waiting had him tense.

3 a.m…. It was 3 a.m. when the nurse woke him. He had told the staff to wake him as soon as the girl woke up. Now Kennan was rushing down the two flights of stairs towards the girl’s room. She was finally awake! He was happy. He didn’t know why he cared so much about the girl. He simply did.

When he reached the doctors examining the girl was sitting up and drinking large glass of water. On her lap was a tray with a bowl and a package of crackers.  Kennan walked in slowly…Anticipating another attack. The girl had a large lump of bandage on her right side where the bullet had entered. It had taken the best doctor to remove the bullet, which was embedded in her chest. She jerked her head up when she heard him. Her eyes widened. She blinked hard, squinted, gasped and dropped the, now empty, glass. It rolled off the bed and hit the floor with a clatter. Luckily the glass was plastic. Kennan looked at the glass then back at the girl who’s eyes were wide and mouth a wide gap.  He held both of his hands up and took two steps into the room. He guessed he was the first to see her.

“Its ok. I’m not going to hurt you.” Kennan said walking to the end of her hospital bed. She pulled her legs up to her chest and winced. The fey had excellent medical treatments, the medicine, if taken correctly, could cure anything, but it took longer to heal broken bones. She had had 4 broken ribs, and 2 broken fingers, which were casted.

“I know you must have been through a lot to get hurt as badly as you were. I am not here to hurt you. Only help. What is your name?” He said. The girl looked at him and seemed to relax a bit.

“What are you?” The girl said, her voice rough with sleep. She didn’t answer Kennan’s question. Kennan nodded…She was bold.

“I am Prince Kennan, of the Fey…” He said quietly. He didn’t expect her to take it well. He expected her to be in denial, to think that she was hallucinating or dreaming, but she just nodded.  Kennan raised an eyebrow. This was questionable. Most humans reached for any other possibility afraid to loose the world they thought was theirs.

“Can I go home?” The girls voice seemed to shrivel. She herself seemed to shrink.

“Unfortunately, there is no way back, to the mortal realm.”  Kennan said in a sad voice. They stared at each other. Silent tears streamed down her cheek. Kennan looked away. He knew what it was like to be ripped from everything you knew. But maybe he had found her again. His lost love. Taken away by his enemies. Tortured, murdered. She was meant to be queen. She was equal to his power and his exact opposite. He had loved her.  Though she was killed, there was a prophecy born that day. That desperate, horrible day. A prophecy that said that she was to be reincarnated. And would save the land of the fey, from destruction and loss. But she could turn. Cross to the dark side. Become a danger to Kennan and everyone else as well. Could she be his dear Zaria?… His Zaria Monet…..

wow i can already tell i'm going to love this. one thing you might want to go back and change where it said her side hurt from being shot but you said they took a bullet out of her chest. idk i may be wrong i just thought i'd mention that. i think that they sshould go on a jjourney to try to get her back to the mortal world and like when they finally find a portal he tells her he's in love with her and wants her to stay. and she loves him too but goes back and then i'ts like the end of the book and like after your write it you should write a sequel where she comes back and their reunited and like he's already found another queen and his wife is like evil and trying to slowly kill him and she has to go through this crazy thing just to stop her. haha just sayin. lol

Yes, I believe it's going where I imagined it would. I have one itsy bitsy problem. In the beginning you said that he looked at a bite mark from her on his palm, but the previous chapter said nothing about her biting him. Yes, I know, if we were being realistic, she wouldn't have really noticed, but it would have been nice to have it in both places so it makes a bit more sense. Overall, excellent chapter =)
