Streams

Streams

A Poem by MsJewel

An ocean vast in its beauty

with tides that rose for you and me

as deep waters quickly surround

the one who is willing to drown…

While waves of passion gently flowed

from breast to breast time slowed

our arms entwined in the embrace

of love blinded until the trace

of pastel clouds were shaded gray

in search of truth…I sailed away

And as the angry sky wept

through the storm, my heart slept

Life’s honesty still holds the pain

as time moves on and yet I strain

to see oceans as merely streams

that trickle through my silent dreams

when darkness falls although I grieve…

Love was there…I still believe

you are the mistress of love poems...and about the believe in it.
I love how you present an allegory that deals with dreaming smaller because they are easier to achieve.
And yet going for it all, pretending they are just streams...that might just work.
love the positive vibes felt here.

There is the romantic Goddess brilliantly showing us a touch of heartache that even good love can create.

dear Jewel... where skies weep and love entwines...
breast to breast in ecstasy until one drowns. It is
worth the chance of knowing love for all it's worth.
truly, Pat

Absolutely beautiful expression here. Particularly the last stanza. Your lines filled with lovely imagery. Lost love and yet you still believe it was there. You still believe in it.

Nobody writes of love or lost love better than you my friend, the images created with the pen speaks volumes of a passion and serenity that remains after the relationship has passed.

I will never stop enjoying your poetry.

in their strong innocence, the sea speaks to us and love transcends all. a trickle can become a deluge. your beautiful words and imagery offer hope and truth no matter ... :)

We wade into the waters edge and try to drink the ocean, and may drown in the overwhelming waves, grieving when love rises too fast and crashes too soon upon the shore. But, maybe… maybe we can ride those waves to reach for the stars and forever.

The sea, so wonderful and beautiful. Can be deadly and dangerous too. The sea can teach us many things and show us. Nothing is perfect or steady. Thank you dear for sharing the amazing words and your thoughts.

Echo jacob's words; a beautifully allegorical poem. Especially like the last verse and that line, 'straining to see oceans as merely streams.' How often we do that, magnify a moment, an emotion, until it almost drowns us.

Really lovely poem.

Beccy.
