Streams

Streams

A Poem by MsJewel

An ocean vast in its beauty

with tides that rose for you and me

as deep waters quickly surround

the one who is willing to drown…

While waves of passion gently flowed

from breast to breast time slowed

our arms entwined in the embrace

of love blinded until the trace

of pastel clouds were shaded gray

in search of truth…I sailed away

And as the angry sky wept

through the storm, my heart slept

Life’s honesty still holds the pain

as time moves on and yet I strain

to see oceans as merely streams

that trickle through my silent dreams

when darkness falls although I grieve…

Love was there…I still believe

you are the mistress of love poems...and about the believe in it.
I love how you present an allegory that deals with dreaming smaller because they are easier to achieve.
And yet going for it all, pretending they are just streams...that might just work.
love the positive vibes felt here.

I like how early you bring the reader into this lovely space.
By casting this romantic part
to share in. The kind of poem that lingers, inspires and kindle's
a new found desire.

I like it when you rhyme.

Great line with tides that rose with you and me. How beautiful is that thought. Those memories that rush to mind and then linger. This flowed with tremendous beauty of heart, of love. ‘see oceans as merely stream that trickle through my silent dreams’ Not only a perfect gorgeous sounding line but also one that captures the emotion perfectly. Absolutely a stunning write.

' Love was there…I still believe ' Believing is almost stronger than the love.. holding on to it, feeling it hold what's missing, gone away. You, sweet, avid poet, know how to express emotions near better than many: i never leave your words without feeling something... living. Thank you for saying what I never could with such gentle power..

I really listened - behind my eyes. I felt I was watching from the seawall as life unfolded in another time...

With love, whether swimming ponds or oceans, it can sometimes feel like emotions are over-ridden and what is within us emerges if and when the right person is found and we dive in willingly. When the storms pass, they still echo and reverberate within us, reminding us that it was real once.
We go on, hoping that we live and learn, hoping that memories greatest hits compilation is not yet complete and there will be space for a few more tracks, to play over and over on those calm, reflective nights.
Then all we have to worry about come the morn, is some passerby, to tell us which ocean we are currently bobbing about in and to point the way home 😀
