Chasing Cars

Chasing Cars

A Poem by MsJewel

Speedster, by Porsche.  Born in '75, like me.

                        Challenge me, if you wish

                        but tell me this…

Gentlemen, when you start your engines do they return the favor?

I don't know what to expect of you

                        yet

                        I demand everything of you

                        Even the impossible

                        because you encourage it

Men chase women they have no intentions of marrying

dogs chase cars they have no intention of driving

                        You think you fool me

                        but I like your deceit

Rotten as the apple fallen from the tree

No James Dean here to lend me his coat

                        but you fuel my hunger…

                        delightfully naughty

                        And…

                        You could love me

                        under the starry sky

                        Silky and smooth,

                        my skin like liquid moonlight

                        And still….

                        I would leave you

naked and trembling in the backseat

                        Wishing

                        you were chasing cars

now this was a "Friday night" poem... powerful and steamy... while I never woke up in the back seat naked, I did like to chase cars.... but alas, they were always too fast and got away before I could bite their tires... er.. sorry, my wolf totem spirit took over there for a minute... lol...

about the poem... did I mention powerful and steamy???? so a Porsche huh, sleek, silver streak rolling down the street but Julie, the back seat was way to small for an adventure... but in '75, my 58 chevy… well... er… never mind... lol..

seriously, I enjoyed your poem and all your "naughty delightfullies"....
Glad I found this poem as I have missed reading your poetry Julie...

This had me smiling. What they think they 'can' do and what we do in turn ;) Love the ending here! Very powerful indeed and a lovely read. :))

a good fling is priceless. both high-maintenance. rebels without a cause. a case of be careful what you wish for - you just might get it perhaps? men and their toys. love 'em and leave 'em. who's really driving? you've packed a lot of power under the hood of this. to be handled with care. really great. I love it ... :)

I have found that the faster they are, (and go,) the least distance they can manage on a full tank of fuel.

Wouldn't know about Porsche speedsters of course, never having owned one :))

Beccy.

...1995 Silver BMW Z3 Roadster- featured in James Bond Goldeneye, my toy... Boom! You delivered a slow burn to mankind with your legendary Porsche Speedster and poem Ms Jewel. Loved the nuance, the ‘tease’, the love ‘em and leave ‘em tone of this. Great scene-setting, sinuous flow, James Dean reference and provocative use of italics as you challenge your rapt audience of men. Yes, women love fast, sexy cars too- You Go Girl! Great write.

Chased by a Thunderbird with a James Dean driver... If you lay
in poison Oak, you both get poison Oak... near San Francisco
in the Fifties. Young and vulnerable...

Naughty perhaps, but always with a smile. Thank you for your kind words :) Julie
An excellent write Julie. Got me wandering to many places and many thoughts. Steamy and reminded me of one or two rotten apples that eventually got their comeuppance by revenge.
