Chasing Cars

Chasing Cars

A Poem by MsJewel

Speedster, by Porsche.  Born in '75, like me.

                        Challenge me, if you wish

                        but tell me this…

Gentlemen, when you start your engines do they return the favor?

I don't know what to expect of you

                        yet

                        I demand everything of you

                        Even the impossible

                        because you encourage it

Men chase women they have no intentions of marrying

dogs chase cars they have no intention of driving

                        You think you fool me

                        but I like your deceit

Rotten as the apple fallen from the tree

No James Dean here to lend me his coat

                        but you fuel my hunger…

                        delightfully naughty

                        And…

                        You could love me

                        under the starry sky

                        Silky and smooth,

                        my skin like liquid moonlight

                        And still….

                        I would leave you

naked and trembling in the backseat

                        Wishing

                        you were chasing cars

now this was a "Friday night" poem... powerful and steamy... while I never woke up in the back seat naked, I did like to chase cars.... but alas, they were always too fast and got away before I could bite their tires... er.. sorry, my wolf totem spirit took over there for a minute... lol...

about the poem... did I mention powerful and steamy???? so a Porsche huh, sleek, silver streak rolling down the street but Julie, the back seat was way to small for an adventure... but in '75, my 58 chevy… well... er… never mind... lol..

seriously, I enjoyed your poem and all your "naughty delightfullies"....
Glad I found this poem as I have missed reading your poetry Julie...

' Silky and smooth, - my skin like liquid moonlight .. .. And still… I would leave you - naked and trembling in the backseat - Wishing you were chasing cars.. ' Now is that a tragedy or comedy..

Okay, firstly re.that picture.. I always wanted to have legs up to my armpits! Other than that.. ! You ever courageous woman, you, always have been, standing so innocently, smiling, However known for quite a few years that 'neath that look your mind and body controller holds the means of setting mens' engines purring, whether ready for the breaker' s yard or controllers' advice to go - do not stop, Who knows how a person's lights change colour. Keep in touch.. Take care, keep safe!

I have a 68 Firebird, but I don’t chase anything with it. Sometimes follow my daydreams into the realm of disappointment.

You are so good in weaving your magic in romantic situations be it sad or just insatiable.

Many moons ago, I had a number of thoroughly hot rodded early bugs but I always loved the early Porsche, Oh, and also the late Porsche. In fact, any Porsche!
Cute teasy tribute.

I've got a Renault, reliable, roomy and gets me around, but boy I'd sure like a spin in that Porsche, does the girl in the pic come with it??

Fabulous, imaginative intrigue my friend, where have you been all these years?

Thank you for your kind words Tom :) Julie
I haven't read your stuff in awhile. To be honest, it's not usually my thing. I dig this, though. The last stanza is real sharp.
