Cold and Deep

Cold and Deep

A Poem by MsJewel

Pale in winter white are clouds that weep

a snowflake's tender fall,

‘tis cold and deep

The frost of winter chill can't hold me dear

a tingle finds my cheek, one frozen tear

to dress my winter coat in quiet chill

gathered 'pon stormy winds, yet all is still

Taking the blue of skies, this frost that clings

in silence icy cries lost on the wings

of graceful nightingales and as they fly

sweet songs of joy are lost in the dark sky

Unzip the silent night for in my dreams

wrapped in the silver sheet of warm moonbeams

I find myself in spring, I feel the bliss

of butterflies, sweet perfume on my wrist

Caressed in warm embrace and flowery hue

with honey kisses sweet, romance is new

and soft as whispered words only love hears

fading slowly away as the dawn nears

Pale in winter white where my dreams sleep

and still the snowflakes fall,

 ‘tis cold and deep

I marvel at your talent and how you weave words with imagery to bring them all alive in any season. If you were to be a travel agent, you will be able to convince the multitudes to visit and enjoy. Marvelous.

A beautifully flowing piece of work!

The delicate description carries the write to its fitting conclusion like a sigh on the winter wind. There is nothing like the chill of winter to evoke the longing for romance and the warming touch of a lover.

Pure romance on the page. With another wonderful picture to accompany it. Very nice work.

hmmmmmmmmm nothing like the Spring times of romance to warm those winters ..i am so happy i left the north for my southern breezes and one dusting of snow a year....;) i rented a cabin one winter, in the Black Hills of SD. i had to shovel the snow to make a path to the hot tub ... at night i sat out there as the steam rose around me and tiny snow did kiss me cheeks ... one automatically looks up to greet them ... your poem has put me there once again ... a very fine memory ... thanks Ms. Jewel ... so glad to read your new post!

Hi
Wonderful whimsical metaphor. You certainly have a gift in beauty/sadness. But the bird might just be wondering why the women has little clothes on in the snow.
