~ a love poem ~

~~~
Rivers flow, oceans rise
behind the stars in his eyes
I’ve counted each one you see
bathed in reveries
of satin tides, waves of silk,
moonlight pale as milk
Drifting gently to the sound
of his heartbeat….
I am found
This is very smooth. The rhythm, the imagery, almost feels like the waves crashing and receding, or like a faint murmur on the ear.
"moonlight pale as milk" fav line.
Great ending too
"I am found"
Sudden. Almost like waking up from a reverie .
It's certainly true that beauty does lie in the eye of the beholder. You've certainly proved that in your poem here. The visualization of a self reflected beauty in the eyes of your life partner is what you've also illustrated with the picture above your sentimental poem. Great work Julie. A passionately profound write. :)
Have you ever watched a show called "westworld"? Not the old Michael Crighton one, the new one with Anthony Hopkins and Rachel Evan Wood
It's a little rough but I think you'd enjoy it. Give it a shot.
Romantic prose characterising the expression of your passionate love. Very nicely conveyed with elegance and quality.
