Hands EntwinedA Poem by MsJewela collaboration with my best friend and favorite poet Trace “A
single rose can be my garden... a single friend, my world,” Leo Buscaglia
He has never touched my
hand or heard a sigh slip from
my lips as I lay my head on his
chest warmed… by a
heartbeat familiar He has never traced the
curve of my face or the pink of my lips Yet, he has tasted my tears never dismissing them only brushing them away ‘til there is nothing left but to smile No, he has never touched my hand
Still, it fits perfectly in mine
She has never touched my hand or felt my whisper in her
ear as I held her close on a sultry summer evening She has never felt the
strength of my arms or the beat of my heart that knows no bounds or
borders Yet, knows those same
feelings exist if
only a heartbeat away No, she has never touched my
hand, but my heart… yes, hearts
have touched
