 The Last Love Poem

If this were the last love poem ever written

it would be for you, my love

and the rain…

falling softly on the roses

I fell too

for your eyes,

 pools of liquid moonlight

and your kisses,

whispering of rainbows forevermore

Yes, if this were the last love poem ever written

it would be for you…

and the rain

I really enjoy this poem, I love the hyperbole of the last love poem, I love the importance it gives itself to say that the object of the speakers affection would be it, the absolute last. You have a lovely way with words, and I like your word placement. Well done!

Beautiful and sincere.
We dream of everlasting love and hope to enjoy it forever... yet we never know when it might go away.
So we make the best and know with each storm a rainbow is promised.
Write each poem in dedication to who and what you love as though it may be your last...... and pray for rain.

Huggs... TRACE.

I love to construe the element of rain within a poem. It's always been such a comfort to me, as far back as I can remember. This reads hauntingly as well as beautifully, Julie, for we shall never know which poem will be our last!

Behold! A poem that speaks to the soul and will reverberate for a long time to come in the mind and heart too. Excellent Julie!

Heavy sigh.....no, it will never be the last love poem. There will always be more written even if about the same lost love. Beautifully written. Lydi**

Intensely romantic and touching from the deep wells of romance. A culmination of all that is felt and lived...:)................

A highly romantic piece Julie. Soft and full of old fashioned passionate intimacy.
