Soft Unrest

Dark of night in amethyst

dreams, they lie in soft unrest

starlight rises from the sea

moonlight crowned in such beauty…

           

 

From the aching depths below

I feel the lingering glow

of the night,

                                      the sky,

                                                          the sea

the dreams that wait for you, for me

 

So warm in the paling moon

oh would it be far too soon

to wish you near, let you in

feel the curve of silken skin

 

I will don my velvet dress

hold you to my beating breast

loosening my golden hair

glistening on perfumed air

 

With careless head, heaven bound

feet swept gently from the ground

in your arms of tenderness

embraced with love’s sweetest breath

 

Slip into me and be lost

‘til time fades and we exhaust

the light of the moon’s bright crown

in my sea of love to drown….
