Sweet Nothings

Sweet Nothings

A Poem by MsJewel

I’ve never been to Paris

and yet…

I’ve watched the sunset over the River Seine

warmed by a kiss of a breeze

scented with chocolate and raspberry macarons

Your champagne lips whispered sweet nothings

I caught them,

                                savoring each delectable treat

a coy Audrey Hepburn

to your most charming Cary Grant

We danced

as slow as the lights flickering on the water

as graceful as the sweet nothings

shimmering in the moonlight

No

I’ve never been to Paris

and yet...

I have to admit I've never been a romantic. But this is a very romantic poem that I've enjoyed. Maybe it's that Paris thing. Was in Paris with a buddy in Oct. '70. Should've stayed a bit longer . . . but we found it less than hospitable to US GI's in the Viet Nam era. Still it is a beautiful and exotic city. My middle daughter was proposed to at the top of the E. Tower. Thanks for the read.

And yet you have tasted the romance? A romantic piece indeed, colourfully expressed with sights and sounds packed into a flowing and sighing image painted in words. Love the artwork.

Can you imagine being in the arms of Cary Grant? Oh, my heart melted like butter on toasted bread. What a wonderful excursion you've penned, Julie...loved the genuine feel of it, the warmth of it!

Soft and sweet, reminds me of my feelings for the Thames in England. Valentine

Thank you my sweet friend. :) Julie
Julie,
Soft and serene imagery of romance. Shimmering lights and inviting fragrances. You have made a convincing case of not needing Paris to share tender moments.

There is a soft sigh that carries your thoughts here across the sea. A tender, moving glimpse of something alive in you, an almost memory of what could be somehow in this enchantment of you. Such beautiful music here.
