Sweet Nothings

Sweet Nothings

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a heartprint ~

"

                             art ~ Mark Spain

I’ve never been to Paris

and yet…

I’ve watched the sunset over the River Seine

warmed by a kiss of a breeze

scented with chocolate and raspberry macarons

Your champagne lips whispered sweet nothings

I caught them,

                                savoring each delectable treat

a coy Audrey Hepburn

to your most charming Cary Grant

We danced

as slow as the lights flickering on the water

as graceful as the sweet nothings

shimmering in the moonlight

No

I’ve never been to Paris

and yet...

I have to admit I've never been a romantic. But this is a very romantic poem that I've enjoyed. Maybe it's that Paris thing. Was in Paris with a buddy in Oct. '70. Should've stayed a bit longer . . . but we found it less than hospitable to US GI's in the Viet Nam era. Still it is a beautiful and exotic city. My middle daughter was proposed to at the top of the E. Tower. Thanks for the read.

A very romantic write with a wonderful picture to go with it.

There must be a reason they call Paris the "City Of Love". I myself hope to find out one day, too.

Very lovingly written, delicate with wonderful imagery.
Very nice work.

The power of daydream and poet's creative mind. Wonderful setting and word play. I felt I've been in Paris.

I love daydreams. Thank you for your lovely comment :) Julie
First off I love the art you choose for your pieces! I love how they add an ambiance. This piece is romantic and classic. Your words swept me away! A day dream is far better sometimes than a real trip...at least that's what I keep reeling myself! I love this piece it transported me!
Well done!

A amazing poem. You gave Paris place of beauty and romance. Hemingway made Paris tempting and beautiful. I like the complete poem. A strong ending to a amazing poem dear Julie.

Wow! This is breathtakingly romantic! I loved the imagery here! I would say, you don't have to go to a specific place to feel how it is ;)

Excellently penned! I enjoyed reading this :)
