Can a Bird Fly if its Wings get Wet? I wonder....

Can a Bird Fly if its Wings get Wet? I wonder....

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ just a scribble ~

"

Like a curious cardinal upon the window sill...

I gaze upon the courtyard, lust in my eyes

          watching

as flecks of sun and shade play in the trees,

fallen leaves rustling along the brick path

I wonder…

What is it I covet so hungrily?

                                      passion?

to stay in this moment and soak up the sun

your eyes on my bare thighs?

While under my feet roses, daisies and myrtle spring up every hour

Or am I leaning towards envy,

as I look to the sky

listening to the wind whisper secrets of days to come,

like a love poem, written in flesh

surrendering everything to create a life as beautiful as the dreams

                                   dancing in my imagination

The clouds rush in and in their misty shadow,

    I’m a savage

faithful and faithless

magnanimous and cruel…

Decipher me or I will devour you!

For there is no question

not another sun will arise unseen

As the rain starts,

    I wonder..

Can a bird fly if its wings get wet?

I very much enjoy the way this is written with a playful spirit & gentle tones of imagery. It feels like a fluttering bird, each random idea is so surprisingly hopping around the central theme of your message. I also like the thought-provoking question in your title & final line . . . well crafted as a metaphor for many aspects of how life & love can feel.

Beneath all the stunning beauty, there is deep contemplation...underlining the different facets of a woman's soul. The selfless love, the lust for more of life, the longing to be understood...Thank you for sharing such beautiful poetry.

It is such a pleasure :)
This is not a scribble! It's beautiful! I love it! I especially love how you paint the woman with your words! A little peak inside the mind! You expressed so many things in this piece!! Exquisitely written!! Whimsy, passion, depth, deep thoughts all in one poem!! I should have just written speechless! Because my words are falling short of expressing the feelings I have about this piece! I LOVE IT!

I'm honored and humbled by your lovely comment Tabby. Thanks so very much :) Julie
Can the rolling stone that paused still carry on in resplendent emerald green?
All things are possible - especially when a poet - a poet of your calibre Julie, is holding the pen.

Thank you for your generous words Tony. :) Julie
wow! had to read over several times ..third time pays for all says Bilbo Baggins ;)
a deep very emotive and poetic write says i! the paths are subtle and voracious ... lust can be an insatiable desire ... once dipped into one may be lost forever .. does the bird fly once its wings are rain soaked? hmmmmmmmm ... a perfect question to leave unanswered ;) i really like this poem ..love being put in the scene with all my senses touched ... lets all be devoured, shall we!?

Pure beautiful poetry! I am glad I read it as I need it. These days only heavy emotions come out from my mind so reading your one has freshened my mind.

The pleasure is mine.
Nice! Of course the bird can still fly. All it takes is passion.

Missed your writes.
i do think that birds can fly regardless...they are tough creatures, moreso than we give them credit to be...and people are also that way...

i like the flowers growing under the feet here, and the pondering of what exactly we are so passionate about...

you write sensual like you were born with that pen in your hand...and heart.

Thank you Jacob. You have left me with a smile this evening :) Julie
'Decipher me or I will devour you!', well said! 'A love poem written in flesh,' another phrase I wish had been my own. Few will not relate to the need for passion, and yet it is most likely that fewer will find passion itself. I enjoyed your stunning piece :) I.I.

It was my pleasure! :)
Well, Julie!
About time I start thinking there's barely anything original or deeply poetic around these days, You come along with something like this gorgeous Free Verse, that simply grabs hold with vibrant poetic voice and swerves all through my every fiber, it seems, or, maybe, it actually does, it feels so familiarly intrinsic to my senses, in so many alluringly gratifying ways.
Take the presentation, the formatting, the pristine syntax of this piece (for instance), and I hope this is not an insult, but it's as though it feels so much a part of my mind and spirit (and, I know I couldn't) it could have flowed from my own pen.
You can teach us all so much, if we are able to open our hearts, imaginations, and minds.

Well, there you have it, and if I haven't already depleted my welcome, I'd like to depart with a glowing, honest, "Thank you," for showing all of us the wonderment inside of you! ⁓ Richard

(to answer your question, I think it depends very much on the bird's willingness and desire) ✨
