Blue Dawn

Blue Dawn

A Poem by MsJewel
"

~ a romantic poem written in lai form ~

~~~
Quiet is the night
weaving pale moonlight
the hue
soft and oh so slight
sets my dreams in flight
of you
hold me ‘til dawn’s light
takes you from my sight
in blue
When the falling dew
sweeps the day anew
I’ll don
a dress of bright hue
a smile though not true
and on
a vision of you
I’ll find my way through
Blue Dawn
~~~

The Lai is a French form of poetry - each nine line verse consists of five syllable couplets seperated by a two syllable line with a rhyme pattern of a/a/b/a/a/b/a/a/b.

See.. there you go again.
Being the consummate poet.
If this wasn't so dam good
I would say you were showing off....

But it is just too dam good.
You are amazing.
And this poem shows it in every line.
Crystal Blue perfection.

Indeed form follows function. This has a romantic sadness as it seems the protagonist is left feeling blue.

Your writing is always so beautiful Julie and this format works in so well with your art form. Just beautiful.

This poem was exceptional! It captivated me and sent tingles down my spine!Absolutely exceptional! The rhyme scheme was something of a heart beat. It felt as though this poem matched with mine. Thrice again, exceptional!

Julie sorry for so long to review dee came home yesterday, she's better but has to heal from a broken shoulder. Your rhyme scheme in this piece is impeccable and the palpitations of love that ring most of your poetry rings loud and clear...but in a whisper...in this piece. As usual, par excellence. take care and thank you for all of your good thoughts through out Dee's inpatient stays...you are a true friend. thanks so much...dan

So soft and sensual, and the form still feels so free. Dreamish and tender, the colors bring this moonlit world to life in every beautiful way.

What style, what ease of reading! '.. hold me‘ til dawn’s light - - takes you from my sight - - in blue .. '

From graphic through form via such silky words.. lovely! Your writing never fails to satisfy, but never over-fills the plate.. So, it's inevitably gentle and relaxing.. and, inevitably romanitc. What more can a review ask for!

(I've learned something new, too, wasn't aware of the Lai.. Thank you for that.)
